Teacher Bio
Kristalyn Gill graduated from East Carolina University’s Honors College with dual degrees in Dance Performance and Interpersonal Communication. She is a dancer, choreographer, author, actor, and educator. Above all else, she considers creativity as a conduit for community, curiosity, and conversation.

She is a dancer, choreographer, author, actor, and educator. Above all else, she considers creativity as a conduit for community, curiosity, and conversation.
Kristalyn is currently a company artist with Yue Yin Dance Company, Soul Project Dance Company (Candace Brown), and SHINSA the Collective (Bo Park). Her dance credits include Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Schrittmacher Festival (Germany), Belgrade Dance Festival (Serbia), Fire Island Dance Festival, 92NY, the American Dance Guild's Performance Festival, New York Live Arts, Judson Church, and Feud (FX). Additionally, she has worked alongside inspiring creators such as Akira Uchida, Brian Golden, Kristen Céré, James Alonzo, Theresa Stone, and Joseph Hernandez.
As a choreographer, Kristalyn's works have toured nationally for festivals in Portland, Philadelphia, and Chicago. Recently, she received the 2023 Queens Arts Fund New Work Grant for her latest evening-length immersive work "LOOK AT ME".
As a writer, Kristalyn was a 2021 Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts Poetry Fellow. She has authored three poetry books. Her latest collection, "Purification in Queens," will be released Fall 2024. Kristalyn's poetry credits include Bowery Poetry Club, Dancegeist, Port Veritas, "While We Wait: A Tale of Fallen Fruit" by Soul Project Dance Company, and "B_TTERLAND" by SHINSA the Collective.
Kristalyn is represented by Clear Talent Agency and thrilled to explore the intersections of contemporary dance as a teacher at Peridance Center and Broadway Dance Center.

Class Descriptions
Kristalyn's class cultivates a rich atmosphere of play, tapping into the wellspring of intersectional stylistic training between contemporary technique and street styles foundations. Class begins with a full-body follow-along warm-up knitting together muscular activation and groove. Students will then progress into a study of choreographic phrase work. The goal of this class is to empower and enrich each dancer's artistry through choice-making, risk-taking, and physical discovery.
