Class Descriptions

The warm up is designed to build cardiovascular strength as well as familiarity with the vocabulary of movement. Drawing from the roots of Hip-Hop, Gabe’s class focuses on infusing its raw culture into today’s commercial dance scene. The choreography may be a fusion of both foundational basics and grooves that when pieced together form a coherent feeling. Students are encouraged to find that place where the given steps meet their individuality.

Gabe derives his movement from his urban upbringing, while occasionally infusing a Caribbean flare. When teaching, he stresses the importance of understanding music for all it’s worth; dancing with the intention of accentuating the music, so as to brings out all it’s accents in a dynamic way.

He finds inspiration in a vast array of music, and enjoys teaching to songs of various genres, while maintaining his signature style. Class begins with a high energy warm-up, stretching, and then continues into learning choreography.
