Serge Onik was born in Kharkov, Ukraine and moved to the United States with his family at the age of 3. Training in all styles of Ballroom, he quickly made a name for himself as a National Champion and for capturing 8th Place at the World Games in Taiwan in 2009.

Serge Onik was born in Kharkov, Ukraine and moved to the United States with his family at the age of 3. Training in all styles of Ballroom, he quickly made a name for himself as a National Champion and for capturing 8th Place at the World Games in Taiwan in 2009.

As both a performer and choreographer, Serge continues to share his artistry in the industry across many styles of dance. He has been featured in Jennifer Lopez’s AMA’s Celia Cruz Tribute, Andy Grammer’s Good To Be Alive, and numerous television programs, including Dancing With The Stars, Jane the VirginAgent Carter, and Bones.

Serge's choreography spans multiple platforms including stage shows such as the Wynn Resorts Company’s La ReveThe Wynn New Year’s ShowSWAY: A Dance TrilogyBallroom with a Twist, and Zendaya’s Neverland. He is currently a resident choreographer for the NY Knicks City Dancers and recently choreographed a flash mob for Live On vitamin company. He also frequently lends his talents as a movement coach and choreographer for Team USA’s World Champion Ice Skaters.

Serge is well-known for his role with two-time Emmy award-winning actress Kirstie Alley in herweb series, 100 Days of Dance, and for finishing top 10 in So You Think You Can Dance Season 11.

We celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved faculty member, Serge Onik. He inspired countless dancers and dance fans with his artistry. He was an incredible teacher, dancer, mentor, and friend to so many. Serge's classes not only taught technique but sparked confidence and joy in his students. He was a kind soul and a true talent that will be greatly missed.
