Samm Hewes is based in NYC and has been very fortunate to express herself through movement all over the world. Performing credits: nationals tours Disney’s High School Musical and HSM2, Regional Theater performances of Chicago, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, CATS, Crazy For You, Footloose, Young Frankenstein and 42nd Street to name a few. Film/Screen dancer on ABC TV Series Will Trent.

She also was a singer/dancer for Holland America Cruise Lines and for Norwegian Cruise lines and spent many years traveling the world doing what she loves. Her path has also lead to many opportunities to direct, choreograph and assist on many shows at Music Theater Wichita, Fulton theater, Prather Productions and various programs in colleges, high school and Middle schools.

When Samm is not creating or performing she spends time focusing on the health and wellness as a personal trainer and fitness instructor for Equinox. Samm is extremely excited to be part of numerous dance competitions and conventions to be able to educate the up and coming professionals in the industry. Creating longevity with the dancers body has become a main focus in Samm’s teaching and educated dancers on how to properly execute resistance training is a core belief of hers. Building life long healthy habits physically, mentally and emotionally are the footprints Samm intends to leave in the dance world.

Class Descriptions

FUEL for Dancers is a fitness class designed for dancers to support all the aspects of a their lifestyle. In this class we focus on cross training exercises to sustain a long career in the dance world. Building muscle strength, joint mobility, metabolic stamina and endurance in muscles is crucial to the longevity of dancers. Nutrition for the dancer is also sprinkled in to create healthy awareness around how to FUEL our vessels. Dancers that invest in this class will get a full 50 minute workout with some tips tricks and form corrections. Then to finish out we take the last 35 minutes of class to create a combination of dance where the exercises we focus on are activated. Dancers are athletes so it’s time to train our unique talents like one.
