Teacher Bio
Liz Piccoli (SDC Director/Choreographer) is a director, choreographer, dramaturg, and producer working across musical theatre, opera, film, and new work development. She fuses together movement and storytelling in a way that embraces joy, inspires connection and celebrates the human spirit. She is currently the Director/Choreographer for Spandex the Musical- starring Tiffany and opening at Asylum, NYC in September 2026.

Select performance credits: back up dancer for P!NK, West Side Story (Lyric) and ballet dancer at the NYC Metropolitan Opera in Romeo et Juliette and The First Emperor starring Placido Domingo.
Select directing and choreography credits include: Billy Elliot (Axelrod Theatre), Cinderella and Footloose (Okoboji Summer Theatre), SDC Observer on Lysistrata Jones (Judson Memorial and Broadway). Additional credits: TV Land Awards opening performance featuring Liza Minnelli, the opera Goyescas (NYC), The Little Prince (Milan, Italy) and Miss Saigon (Oahu, Hawaii).
Recent directing projects: Into the Woods (Proctors Broadway Camp), The Secret Garden (Virginia Children’s Theatre), Matilda (Maude Adams Theatre Hub, Catskill Mountain Foundation). Current NYC developmental projects: My Father’s Play, The Start Up (The Flea) and Spirit of the Game – The Ultimate Musical (Asylum, NYC.)

Dance into the stretchy world of Spandex the Musical in this high-energy choreography repertory class led by Director/Choreographer- Liz Piccoli (with Assistant-Catherine Ashmore Bradley.) Learn original choreography inspired by the show's infectious 80's pop soundtrack and the 1988 National Crystal Aerobics Championship-hosted by Alan Thicke.
The fun kicks up to another level as special guest star Tiffany joins the class. This is an exclusive chance to dance alongside a legendary pop icon whose music helped define a generation. Whether you're an aspiring Broadway performer, an 80's music lover, or just ready to "Burn It," this class is your chance to experience the spirit of Spandex before it hits the stage at Asylum, NYC this fall. Casting for the show is still in process.
Come ready to sweat and unleash your inner aerobics superstar! We encourage you to dress in your most fabulous 80's fashion, especially legwarmers and headbands.
