Kaitlyn Frank is a NYC based performer and teacher, most recognized for her expertise in tap dance. Most recently, she has been seen on the 1st National Tour of Disney's Newsies, the Newsies movie, and the National Tour of Irving Berlin's White Christmas. A Poughkeepsie, NY native, Kaitlyn found her passion for tap dance studying under her mentor, David Rider, and soon went on to train in NYC. At age 15, she joined the American Tap Dance Foundation's TCYE. Since then, she has performed works choreographed by Michelle Dorrance, Brenda Buffalino, Barbara Duffy, Chloe Arnold, Dormisha Sumbry-Edwards, Aaron Tolson and Randy Skinner. She has performed in NYC venues such as City Center, The Joyce Theatre, The Duke on 42nd Street, The Signature Theatre, Symphony Space and The United Nations. In 2009, she received the American Tap Dance Foundation's Buster Brown Award for "excellence, passion and hunger for the art of tap dance." In addition to teaching at BDC, Kaitlyn also teaches at NOLA studios, DCPAC and JPAC in Dutchess County. Her greatest joy is sharing her passion for tap dance with others, and she's thrilled to do that here at BDC.
