Jessica Wockenfuss (she/her) is an actor and choreographer based in New York City. She is a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association.

Jessica has performed extensively in some of the country’s most prestigious regional theaters, such as Paper Mill Playhouse, Sacramento Music Circus, Ogunquit Playhouse, Theatre Under the Stars, Pittsburgh CLO, Kansas City Starlight, North Shore Music Theatre, and Pioneer Theatre Company. Favorite roles include Peggy Sawyer in 42nd Street (with Randy Skinner), Roxie Hart in Chicago, and Willie Cagney in the pre-Broadway run of Cagney the Musical. She has toured nationally with Jersey Boys, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, The Little Mermaid, and Monty Python’s Spamalot. Here in NYC, she has performed in Hey, Look Me Over, and Me and My Girl, both with the Encores! series at City Center. She has worked with many notable directors and choreographers, including Warren Carlyle, Randy Skinner, Denis Jones, Josh Bergasse, Bill Castellino, Glenn Casale, Marc Bruni, Bob Richard, and Kelli Barclay.

Jessica holds a B.F.A. in Music Theatre and a B.A. in Dance from Elon University. She approaches all of her choreography from a musicality and story-telling standpoint. She was first given the opportunity to teach dance as a teenager at her dance studio in Delaware. After that experience, she knew educating and inspiring others through dance would be an important part of her life. While on tour, Jessica worked with Broadway Connection, teaching students across America original choreography from her touring productions and giving them a glimpse into the life of a working actor. Educating the next generation on work ethic, passion, and drive, meanwhile giving them the tools to succeed, is incredibly important to her. When she’s not performing, Jessica continues to choreograph and teach in New York City.

Her style is a contemporary twist on the 1930s-50s movie musical era, bringing classic tap into the modern age. Class consists of a warm-up, technique drills, across-the-floor, and a fun and challenging combination. All will serve to explore creative weight shifts, clarity of sounds, and engaging proper technique. Jessica nurtures a supportive atmosphere that lifts you up to help you succeed and gives you a cushion if you stumble. She will meet you where you are and guide you to your next step (quite literally!).
