This level will provide a strong basis in ballet technique, correct body alignment and posture, an introduction to French ballet terminology as well as ballet classroom etiquette for students of all dance styles. Basic ballet is suitable for the novice dancer with very little previous experience, or for the student who wants to refine their technique at a basic level.
The goal of this class is to create and inspire an atmosphere where all dancers can train, perfect, push, and grow. Mrs. Epting is committed to being a part of each dancer’s journey, and she values hard work and attentiveness from each and every class. This class relies on a systematic approach to classical ballet for marked improvement. Dancers will focus on the basics of classical ballet technique, and French ballet terminology, while stressing correct placement, with an added emphasis on performance quality and artistry.
If you have ever been in ballet class and wished there was more time to breakdown the skills and specific coordination required for pirouettes, turns en diagonal, petit allegro and grand allegro - this class is for you! This class is designed to systematically link carefully crafted barre exercises with center combinations for the purpose of building strength, muscle memory and deeper understanding of the mechanics of the vast world of ballet jumps and turns. French terminology will be an additional focus of this class allowing for more fluency in traditional ballet classes. We will build upon beginner turns & jumps by incorporating more challenging sequences across-the-floor. You will develop greater control, technical understanding and strength to not only help you execute more advanced skills, but to also do them safely. This class is perfect for dancers who are desire to increase the strength, power, flexibility, and technique necessary for more advanced jumps and turns. An emphasis will be placed on proper body alignment, spotting, and turnout.
