Jen’s class is all about creating a safe space and a joy filled environment for dancers! Class begins with a structured warm up that stretches and strengthens the full body. Following warmup, class flows into jazz progressions across the floor which emphasizes technique and works on transitions. From there, class moves into a combo which marries Jen’s classical ballet and jazz upbringing with her eclectic choreographic styles: street jazz, musical theatre, and even a little hula. Jen’s class is designed to pump you up and recharge your artistic batteries. Get ready to move, groove, and catch some good vibes!
Jen’s contemporary class is a safe space for dancers to tap into their individual voice through movement. Class begins with a warm up filled with breathwork, stretching, and technique. Following warmup, class flows into improv which allows the dancer to learn and trust how their body wants to organically move, building confidence in the dancer’s artistic expression. From there, Jen gives a combo which integrates learning set choreo with the main focus learning how to storytell and stretch beyond “perfection”. Jen’s desire is for each dancer to walk away from class feeling a sense of catharsis as Jen believes dance is a healing vessel if used as such.
