Destiny Nguyen is a first generation Asian American dancer, choreographer and educator from Easton, Pennsylvania. After receiving their BFA from Temple University, they emerged into the commercial and concert dance scene in Philadelphia and NYC. They have been fortunate to train in Philly with Kun-Yang Lin (KYL/D) and Kyle Clark (Just Sole! Street Dance Theater) and work with NYC choreographers Kenichi Kasamatsu (akompany), David Cartahena Lee (Resonance), Neil Schwartz and others, as well as teach at Broadway Dance Center and around the East Coast. Destiny’s choreographic work has been presented in NYC spaces such as the Craft, the Tank, Arts on Site, Alpha Omega, Greenspace, PMT, 3Dollar Bill, in Philadelphia, New Haven, Boulder, and Atlanta. Her mission is to create work and educational spaces that challenge expectations of conventional art forms, aiming to spark conversation in how people experience dance as art, movement and community.

Class Descriptions

Destiny’s class encourages students to tap into their listening, body awareness and retention skills through warmth, patience and a challenge on the brain. Class material blends elements of street styles, contemporary and jazz dance, with an emphasis on isolations and textures. Students partake in active listening practice to deepen their musicality through movement. Most importantly, Destiny’s class space centers around community building and growth through connection.
