Chip Abbott was raised in Carson City Nevada and later went on to receive a BPA in Dance Performance from Oklahoma City University. An athletic, emotionally inspiring, physical, and technical challenge! Breaking through walls technically and in performance is achieved by creating a safe space to test your limits and as a dancer. Students will also benefit from a great focus on musicality and how to shade the dynamics of each dance combination to further their performance onstage and in an audition setting.
Warm up will progress from very light static stretching to firing fast and slow twitch muscles and muscle groups, brief cardio, active stretching, and finish with deep stretching. Yoga, ballet and jazz technique will have a heavy focus. Progressions with consist of leaps and turns, dance “brain-teasers” and more centering exercises.
The final combination will be a classic theatre dance combination in some cases and in others a “story telling” contemporary inspired theatre combination. Each class is truly diverse and will leave you full of love for dance!
