Born in Nagoya, Japan, Chio moved to New York in 1998 to study at the world-renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Since then, she has assembled impressive television, video, stage and commercial dancer/choreographer/instructor credits including: "The Queen Latifah Show", "The Chris Rock Show", "1st Look NY" on NBC, Bacardi, recording artist Out Of Eden, Marina, Dee Robert, Lady O, KTU Beat Stock, the New Jersey Nets, the New Jersey Devils/Ironman and the Washington Redkins all star Junior teams.
She has been on faculty at Broadway Dance Center since 2001, where she teaches her very popular Jazz Funk classes. Aside from often teaching BDC’s Absolute Beginner Workshop series, Chio has also been a part of the esteemed faculty of The PULSE On Tour, alongside the likes of Brian Friedman and Laurieann Gibson. She has been also traveling to studios all over the country teaching master classes and choreographing.

This is a hot jazz class peppered with street, funk, and Hip-Hop. Students should have a basic understanding of the jazz technique. The warm-up is designed to strengthen the students ability to adopt jazz and funk movement.
