Alex Mitchell is a colorful, queer creative based in New York City. Growing up on Long Island, Alex knew early on that she had a passion for movement, performing and connecting with others through dance.
...Read moreAlex Mitchell is a colorful, queer creative based in New York City. Growing up on Long Island, Alex knew early on that she had a passion for movement, performing and connecting with others through dance.
After receiving her BFA in Dance Studies from Long Island University, she went on to complete Broadway Dance Center’s Professional Semester program. There she concentrated in Contemporary/Jazz and Street Styles and trained with NYC’s top choreographers. Alex has worked with Cosmopolitan Magazine, Macy’s, MTV and is a company member and assistant with Theresa Stone’s AbstraKT Beings.
Her work in choreography has been presented throughout New York City at events like Sybarite Love is Love, The Young Choreographer’s Festival, WAX Works, Dumbo Dance Festival and more.
Alex is a passionate dance educator and has worked with program students at BrickHouse NYC and Broadway Dance Center. She is currently on faculty at Connecticut Dance Conservatory, Glen Dance Studio and PJM Studios in Manhattan. Alex’s work ethic and bubbly personality shines through in all of her creative endeavors.

Class Descriptions
Class will begin with a full body warm up that includes cardio, conditioning and open stretch. We will move through improvisational exercises, becoming mindful of ourselves and comfortable with those around us. The majority of class is dedicated to learning choreography with the intention of embodying the essence of the music. Focusing on dynamics, the movement vocabulary is a fusion of phrase-work, elements of street styles and theatrical influences
