BDC's Junior Training Program (Ages 13-18) is a powerful opportunity for experienced dancers to immerse themselves in Broadway Dance Center's legendary training in the heart of Manhattan’s theater district. Create a curated schedule tailored to your interest, skills, and goals. With professional guidance, limited capacity, closed classes, rehearsals, and full access to our elite faculty - be inspired to dance with BDC this summer!

Program Details

JTP offers the extraordinary opportunity to train in New York City with BDC's legendary faculty alongside professional dancers.

Each week, curate your individual schedule from our drop-in options. We offer a vast variety of disciplines for you to choose from!
- Classes are Monday-Friday from 9am - 7pm

Nurturing full-time staff on hand to help guide your studies. Weekly feedback and advising meetings.
Scholarships awarded in each session for future BDC programs: Professional Semester, Summer Intensive, Winter Intensive, and our Annual and Semester Children & Teens Program!

*The Filmed Production number is only offered as part of our 2-week session.

Two Week Session

We recommend at least five years of dance training in the respective style of your concentration. Intermediate Advanced to Advanced level dancers.

Rate for taking BOTH sessions (4 weeks) is $2800. Please note that the discount will not be offered if you decide to extend your program in the future. Please call to enroll if you are opting to take both sessions: (212) 457-0035

2 - WEEK SESSION DETAILS:

6 concentration classes per week
2 foundation/technique classes per week (foundation varies based on chosen concentration)
3 diversity classes (outside the concentration of study) per week
1 Elective class per week (voice, pilates, yoga)
1 Ballet class per week
3 closed classes and/or seminars* per week
- Closed classes (JTP dancers only) in the style of the session
Filmed production number
- Prominent choreographers in the dance industry will set a piece on the JTP (Ages 13-18) students
- 10 hours of rehearsal **
- 3-hour film shoot

*The weekly closed classes and/or seminars could be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30-10:30am (exact schedule TBD).

**Rehearsals could be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-7pm (exact schedule TBD).

One Week Session

We offer an abbreviated one-week session for those seeking a shorter time commitment. We recommend at least three years of dance training in the respective style of your concentration. Suitable for Intermediate and above level dancers.

How to Apply

All interested dancers must attend the JTP Live Audition OR complete a JTP Online Submission.

JTP Online Submission

Please fill out the JTP Application Form that includes the following:

Basic information and Emergency Contact.
Dance résumé detailing previous training and performance experience.
Two-minute YouTube or Vimeo URL. Please begin the video by speaking directly to the camera, stating your name, where you're from, and why you want to join the Junior Training Program at Broadway Dance Center. The next minute of the video should demonstrate your ability in the style of the session in which you are registering (Contemporary/Hip-Hop OR Jazz/Musical Theater). The last minute of the video can be in any style you wish and should display your personal style.

BDC will notify you of your acceptance by email.

Upon acceptance, full tuition is due. We accept credit cards (Visa, Master Card, Discover, or Amex)
Once your tuition has been received, BDC will issue your official acceptance packet.

A refund can be requested up to 30 days prior to the start of the session less a 10% admin fee; no refunds will be given within 30 days of the start of the session. The application fee is non-refundable. No refunds given for any absences during the session.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

With a focus on providing assistance to dancers who have been historically underrepresented in the dance industry, Broadway Dance Center will accept applications for financial assistance to this program in order to provide easier, more equitable access to dance education.

Applications must be submitted at least one month prior to the start date of the event in order to be considered. Dancers can receive more information and the application form by emailing jtp@bwydance.com.
