Objective

  1. To empower our guests.
  2. To bring awareness to the issue of human trafficking and the intersection with domestic violence.
  3. Raise money to help combat human trafficking.
  4. Highlight ways guests can get involved and make a difference.

Background
It is estimated that 21 million children, men, and women are victims of trafficking and forced labor of which 11.4 million are women and girls, 9.5 million are men and boys, and 5.5 million are children. With the constant demand for commercial sex and cheap labor, victims are put at risk becoming the supply. The trafficking and forced labor industry generates an estimated $150 billion a year. There is also an intersection between domestic violence and human trafficking. In the United States, approximately 12 million people will experience partner violence in a year. When an individual is trafficked by an intimate partner, family member, or other member of the household domestic violence often occurs.
