For Lauren and Chris, partnering is a shared experience between all bodies involved. It blurs the lines between "who’s leading who?" and is a true conversation between the couple and/or group. For this to happen, those involved must develop a mutual nonverbal language through movement, sensitivity, trust, and play. Lauren and Chris will work in class to develop this language. The focus will be on weight sharing, improvisation, and having intention behind movement. Added bonus: This class is also a kickbutt workout!
This class invites movers of all backgrounds to explore the dynamics of partnering through play, touch, and shared weight. We'll build trust, responsiveness, and physical listening as foundations for collaborative movement. Through improvisational scores and guided tasks, participants will generate material both in pairs and groups, developing tools for co-creation. Come ready to connect, experiment, and discover new possibilities in how bodies relate in space and time.
