April Cook
April Cook (she/her) received a BA in both Journalism and Psychology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During her years there, she earned varsity letters for rowing and fencing. She was also an active member of the UNC dance organizations Opeyo! and Carolina Style. She later went on to study tap dance with Gene Medler at Duke University.
April joined the staff of Broadway Dance Center in 2002, and is currently the Director of Marketing & Communications. She is also the director of the longtime BDC events Dance Teacher Workshop and Student Showcase. April is heavily involved in recruiting dancers and managing scholarships for BDC, and has been a full-time member of BDC’s tap faculty since 2004. Check out April's teaching bio and class schedule!
