Ashley Lynne King (she/her/hers) is a versatile artist passionate about using music and movement to help students discover themselves. With experience across the Midwest, Northeast, Colorado, Canada, and Europe, Ashley has performed works by notable choreographers like Sheila Barker, Mike Esperanza, and Cat Cogliandro, appearing on platforms such as MTV, Good Morning America, and Telemundo.
A choreographer for stage and film, Ashley has presented works at events like the Brooklyn Dance Festival, New York Jazz Choreography Project, and the Sans Limites Festival. Her dance film myself won Best Dance Short at the 2020 Astoria Film Festival, and her film tides was featured at Plaxall Gallery.
Ashley holds a Masters degree in Child Life, and Bachelor's in Piano Performance and Psychology. She is a Certified Child Life Specialist, Personal Trainer, and Youth Fitness Specialist, and is published twice on the connection between psychosocial health and the arts.
In addition to teaching adult classes at Broadway Dance Center, she spent 12 years working with young artists in the Children and Teens Program. Ashley strives to create a dynamic learning environment where artists of all ages can explore dance while challenging their minds and bodies.

Class Descriptions
Ashley’s jazz classes encourage students of all ages to challenge their minds, bodies, and musicality. Class will begin with a warmup that focuses on alignment, conditioning, and flexibility before transitioning into upbeat combinations across the floor that utilize technique and foundational jazz footwork. Ashley teaches jazz choreography that emphasizes musicality, strength, style, and technique. All are welcome!
Along with her dance background, Ashley utilizes her music training, fitness expertise, and passion for educating to challenge students of all ages and levels. Her lyrical classes begin with a warmup that emphasizes strength, breath, alignment, and technique. Students will then move across the floor exploring improvisation before learning a combination that encourages musicality, technique, making choices within structure, and freedom in movement.
