Denise Caston-Clark was a Radio City Rockette for 10 years and toured nationally with the Tony Award winning musical Crazy For You. She toured Australia with Elvis to the Max, and choreographed for and performed in shows spanning 5 years at Caesars Windsor in Ontario, Canada.
...Read moreDenise Caston-Clark was a Radio City Rockette for 10 years and toured nationally with the Tony Award winning musical Crazy For You. She toured Australia with Elvis to the Max, and choreographed for and performed in shows spanning 5 years at Caesars Windsor in Ontario, Canada.
Denise was on the tap faculty at Broadway Dance Center before returning to her home state of Michigan in 2019 to launch Tap Dance Detroit, southeast Michigan’s destination for tap dance.
Favorite recent choreography credits include The Wild Party and Urinetown at Oakland University, and Shrek, Legally Blonde, Singin’ In the Rain and Something Rotten at the historic Priscilla Beach Theatre. Denise looks forward to returning to Priscilla Beach Theatre in 2026 to choreograph A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.
Selected teaching highlights include the Big Apple Tap Festival (New York City), Gregg Russell’s Tap Into the Network, Phoenix Tap Fest, the Texas Dance Masters fall convention, and St. Louis Tap Festival.
She founded Motor City Tap Fest in 2008, now entering its 19th year of bringing the world class tap dance to the heart of Detroit.
In 2011, Caston-Clark spoke at the TEDx Detroit Conference about her contributions to Detroit’s cultural landscape.
