Donna Michelle Vaughn from Baltimore, Maryland grew up dancing under the direction of Donna Jean Wienecke at Dance Dynamics where she studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and gymnastics. Donna was then accepted into Baltimore School for the Arts, the leading pre-professional arts high school in the country. It was there that she was introduced to modern dance and realized she wanted to pursue ballet as a career. She completed high school at Carver Center for the arts and technology, where her passion to teach and choreograph began. Donna graduated from Virginia Common-Wealth University, where she majored in Dance and Choreography. Donna has toured nationally and internationally with companies, Hubbard Street 2 and DanceWorks Chicago, under the direction of Julie Nagakawa Bottcher. Donna is a member of the Tony Award-winning cast of Disney’s The Lion King on Broadway and Original cast of Lion King Las Vegas. Donna is the starring role in singer-songwriter, Jill Scott’s newest music video release, “Back Together,” Produced by Alan Ferguson. She’s performed with R&B singer-songwriter Monica on the awards show, “Black Girls Rock.” Ms. Vaughn is a proud teacher at The Caedmon School on Manhattans Upper East side. She choreographs for their musical theatre, winter and after school program. Donna can be found teaching workshops through Passport to Broadway as well as Master Classes in Baltimore Maryland.
