Angela Patmon is a dance professional who has been performing across the nation for ten years and teaching for fifteen. She earned her BFA in Dance on full scholarship at Ohio University with college credit from the school at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, with an emphasis on pedagogy and early childhood development and education. Her love of dance makes her extremely passionate about giving her students tools they can use throughout their lives. Whether it be through self awareness, self-esteem, discipline, healthy habits, or building a base for a career in the arts, dance is such a valuable and deeply personal way to make sense of the world and create a foundation for success.
Patmon’s extensive experience teaching dance from the little ones just starting out, and programs within schools, to pre-professionals, professionals and adults has given her a broad scope of what many different students may want and need from a class. She aims to ensure all of her students are successful through a specific guided curriculum and innovative teaching style.
Patmon was a swing in The Jungle Book under Tony Award winners Christopher Gattelli and Mary Zimmerman, and danced with with The Metropolitan Opera Ballet, at Jazz at Lincoln Center, and Central Park Summer Stage here in New York, as well as New Jersey Performing Arts Center and Jacobs Pillow.
