BDC's Junior Training Program (Ages 9-12) is a powerful opportunity for experienced dancers to train in New York City with Broadway Dance Center’s legendary faculty and guest artists. With professional guidance, limited capacity, closed classes, rehearsals, and full access to our elite faculty - be inspired to dance with BDC this summer!
Program Details
JTP offers the extraordinary opportunity to train in New York City with BDC's legendary faculty and guest artists.
- Each week dancers will take a variety of styles with BDC and guest faculty.
- Classes are Monday-Thursday 9am-3:30pm and Fridays 9am-5pm. Dancers participating in the two-week session will have rehearsals Monday-Thursday 3:30-5pm
- Closed classes and seminars
- Informal in-studio performance for family and friends*
- Nurturing full-time staff on hand to help guide your studies. Weekly feedback and advising meetings.
*The in-studio performances are only offered as part of our 2-week session.
Two Week Session
We recommend at least five years of dance training in the respective style of your concentration. Intermediate Advanced to Advanced level dancers.

*There is a $50 application fee. The fee is waived if applying before Apr 1, 2025.

2 - WEEK SESSION DETAILS
- 20 classes per week
- Weekly advising and feedback from faculty and mentors
- Mock auditioning and Q&A with a professional industry panel
- In-studio showing of choreographed production number
- Prominent choreographers in the dance industry will set two pieces on JTP students
- 6 hours of rehearsal per week**
**Rehearsals will be held Monday through Thursday 3:30-5pm.
One Week Session
We offer an abbreviated one-week session for those seeking a shorter time commitment. We recommend at least three years of dance training in the respective style of your concentration suitable for Intermediate and above level dancers

How to Apply
All interested dancers must attend the JTP Live Audition OR complete a JTP Online Submission.

JTP Online Submission
Please fill out the JTP Application Form that includes the following:
- Basic information and Emergency Contact.
- Dance résumé detailing previous training and performance experience.
- Two-minute YouTube or Vimeo URL. Please begin the video by speaking directly to the camera, stating your name, where you're from, and why you want to join the Junior Training Program at Broadway Dance Center. The next minute of the video should demonstrate your ability in the style of the session in which you are registering (Contemporary/Hip-Hop OR Jazz/Musical Theater). The last minute of the video can be in any style you wish and should display your personal style.

BDC will notify you of your acceptance by email.
- Upon acceptance, full tuition is due. We accept credit cards (Visa, Master Card, Discover, or Amex)
- Once your tuition has been received, BDC will issue your official acceptance packet.
A refund can be requested up to 30 days prior to the start of the session less a 10% admin fee; no refunds will be given within 30 days of the start of the session. The application fee is non-refundable. No refunds given for any absences during the session.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
With a focus on providing assistance to dancers who have been historically underrepresented in the dance industry, Broadway Dance Center will accept applications for financial assistance to this program in order to provide easier, more equitable access to dance education.
Applications must be submitted at least one month prior to the start date of the event in order to be considered. Dancers can receive more information and the application form by emailing jtp@bwydance.com.
