Jhan Mena is a professional dancer and choreographer represented by one of the best Dance agencies in Los Angeles. Jhan was born in Medellin, Colombia where he started his Dance training in 2011 with Dancehall from Dancehall crews that constantly visited Jamaica to learn their dances and culture, 2012 Hiphop and street styles with Stilo Urbano, the best dance school in the city and then he finds the afro styles in 2012 that connected him to his African roots and this give him more love for dancing. His ambition for becoming a better dancer took him to learn from the best dancers in the city and all over the country in cities like Bogota, Cali, Bucaramanga and Cartagena. After a couple years of him becoming a better dancer his passion is a joy he wanted to share with other people and he starts his teaching career in studios and private classes in the city of Medellin. As an new choreographer, has had the privilege to choreograph Music videos in Medellin for upcoming artists and being a movement Director in photoshoots. In 2017 he has the opportunity to teach young kids in Madrid, Spain for a year. Being in Spain he was able to learn from the bests at this style on dance studios and he battles on the Dancehall field in a afro and Dancehall competition in Barcelona. Being so close to Africa gives him the opportunity to focus more and learn Afro from African immigrants living in the city where he was able to session, party and understand their culture in a deeper level. While this is happening he keeps his training in Hiphop styles on the most known dance studios in the country.
He also has Ballet, Locking and wacking dance training. He has trained in other countries like Peru, Mexico, London and United States.
December 2019, Jhan arrives to NYC to learn from the bests teachers and choreographers of the city at Broadway Dance Center.
In January of 2020, Jhan moved to Los Angeles where he continued training with the bests teachers and choreographers in the industry to everyday grow his passion and talent. In 2023 Jhan gets back to teaching in Miami, FL at Cambio studio and then goes teaching in Los Angeles, CA at Tmilly TV and Eighty eight Studios for now.
Jhan has worked with artists such as Cardi B, Tyla, Doja Cat, Kelly Rowland, Janelle Monáe, Keke Palmer, Jae Stephens, and others. Jhan has appeared on the BET Awards, Google Commercial, BET Soul Train Awards and YSL Beauté Commercial.
Currently Jhan keeps focused on Afrostyles and teaches regularly in the United States looking forward to travel overseas and keep sharing the Afro culture around the world.

Jhan’s Afro-Fusion Class is a mix of his knowledge in African dance styles, Jamaican Dancehall and Hiphop. His choreography showcases and focus primarily on Afro Dance. The class is a close approach to the African culture and original Afro dance styles under the genre umbrella of Amapiano and Afrobeat where you’ll spot dances like Kuduro, afrohouse, Legwork, Shaku shaku, Pilolo, gwara gwara, Azonto, Bella dance, Kupe, Kpakujemu, and others. The class will mainly focus on keeping a party energy feeling, which will bring a fun method of teaching to provide an atmosphere for all students. Includes a warm up with this dance styles mentioned above to get in the pocket of the class and learn some steps you can practice outside the dance studio, this will help the students to get a better acquainted at the Afro dance discipline from only steps to a more complex choreography where they’ll be able to acknowledge the step and know the fundation of the Afro step fusioned and varieted.
