As a self-described multi-hyphenate artist, Lauren wears various hats, including dancer, singer, performer, teacher, choreographer, and resident pink person of Hell’s Kitchen.
Originally from South Florida, Lauren has been dancing as long as they have been walking. Her choreography career started in highschool, where she choreographed and danced on her school’s dance team throughout her years there. She then went on to study dance at Bennington College and then Empire State College, finally finishing her BA with the DEL (Dance Education Laboratory)’s Dance Education Program.
Lauren has had the pleasure of assisting and collaborating with BDC faculty faves Morgan Rose and Natalie Malotke for a little more than half a decade, both of whom have heavily impacted Lauren’s class and teaching style.
In addition to her presence at Broadway Dance Center, Lauren takes pride in co-owning The Trans Dance Project (which can be found at @thetransdanceproject on instagram). The organization is dedicated to creating a safe and affordable space for trans, gender non-conforming, and queer artists (with allys always welcome!).
Lauren is committed to both healing past relationships with dance and fostering healthy, happy, and passionate new relationships with this gorgeous artform. They truly believe that as long as you can tell a story, you can dance, and Lauren is beyond grateful that they have been given a path in life that allows them to share this belief with others. To find out about all of Lauren’s teaching and performing endeavors, feel free to check them out on instagram at @laurencagnetta!

Lauren’s class guides students through a journey where the art of storytelling is at the forefront, making this an ideal starting point for those who are new to dance or aiming to solidify their foundation. Lauren’s goal is to allow students to feel safe and seen in a fun and welcoming environment that celebrates individuality. This class ensures students not only learn the steps but also discover the richness of their own personal narratives, making each dance a unique expression of self. This class is the place to ask questions and talk in depth about dance technique in a way that other classes may not have the time to discuss. Class includes a comprehensive warm-up and an occasional across the floor, followed by a story driven combination. Lauren’s approach is more than just dance–it’s an exploration and celebration of the distinct stories each student brings to the studio.
