As a sophomore dance major in college Jacquie experienced major mobility issues and pain in her lower back. After trying everything to rehab it from acupuncture and chiropractors, to hot yoga and physical therapy, she discovered Pilates. Jacquie received her Mat Pilates Certification through LindaFit Pilates in 2016 and has since received her NASM personal training, Barre Fitness, and Reformer and Apparatus Certifications. Maitner has studied countless anatomy and kinesiology classes and has been teaching Pilates consistently for the last six years.
Her experience includes but is not limited to pre/post natal Pilates, pelvic floor and acute shoulder injury rehabilitation, as well as relief of sciatic nerve pain. For three years she trained clients at ID Pilates and Barre Centric LLC. in Buffalo, NY. Maitner currently teaches private Pilates clients at Equinox in Manhattan as well as Jazz dance at BDC's Children and Teen Program.
Jacquie loves sharing her knowledge and passion for movement with movers from all walks of life to show them how Pilates can improve their quality of life and movement as much as it did hers.
