Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, Megan Lininger received her BFA in Dance from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. After being named Best Choreographer her Senior year, she knew the foundation for her choreographic future had been laid.
Upon graduation, Megan had the privilege of assisting guest artist, Tricia Brouk. Moving to NYC in 2006, this connection was carried on as Megan assisted Tricia on Drift, for the New York Musical Theatre Festival.
Megan has been Co-Director of the Elite Competition Team at Miss Colleen’s Elite Dancentre in Rockville Center, NY since 2013. She has been awarded Best Choreography from various Regional and National Dance Competitions and received a full scholarship to The Pulse in support of her choreography from BDC’s AIM Invitational. Her work at Elite has played a major role in solidifying her choreographic voice and approach towards dance education.
Within the classroom Megan strives to help her students become technically sound, well rounded and respectful artists. With roots in modern, ballet, contemporary and hiphop, her movement is richly organic while offering a pedestrian point of view. She strives to keep the human experience at the forefront of her storytelling. The truth and authenticity behind her creative philosophy creates a safe environment for each dancer to bring their authentic self, while exploring their artistic and technical voice.
