Jaci Royal, originally from Phoenix, moved to New York in 2005 as a scholarship recipient of Broadway Dance Center's Professional Program. Under the direction of Wes Veldink, she trained with top teachers and choreographers in the industry. Upon graduating the program, she continued working with Wes, performing in his company The Wes Veldink Movement and assisting him throughout the country and Europe. During her time in NY she taught at Broadway Dance Center. She has worked on projects including Reebok Industrials, PULSE Nationals, co-choreographing for the Steps Ensemble, assisting choreographer Brian Friedman, and directing and choreographing the annual Capezio Fashion Show.
Last year she assisted on a music video and promo tour for pop singer, Ashlyne Huff and Country Strong, a film starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw. Recently, she choreographed a music video for an upcoming country artist, Margaret Durante. As a result of being a finalist in the Capezio A.C.E. Awards in 2009, she was able to share her work on a New York City Broadway stage last summer. Her instruction and movement encourages dancers to connect with the music, explore the self, and awaken the imagination.
