Teacher Bio
Marzia Memoli, born in Palermo, Italy, began her professional training at age 12 at the "Teatro Massimo" in Palermo and later moved to Milan to study at the Academy of "Centro studi Coreograci Teatro Carcano". Memoli graduated with high honors and continued her training at the "Maurice Bejart School" in Switzerland. She performed with the "Bejart Ballet Lausanne" and as a soloist guest artist at the "Ballet Festival of the National Theater of Quebec".

In 2016, Memoli joined the Martha Graham Dance Company in NYC, where she performed principals roles over the past nine years and worked with renowned choreographers such as Hofesh Shechter, Lar Lubovitch, Elisa Monte, Bobbi Jean Smith, Andrea Miller, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Jamar Roberts. Her repertoire includes Graham's soloist and principal roles in "The Rite of Spring", “Diversion of Angels”, “Chronicle”, “El Penitente”, “Deep Song”, “Satyric Festival Song” to name a few.
Currently, Memoli works with Twyla Tharp for this 24/25 season and performed "In the Upper Room" and "Nine Sinatra Songs" at New York City Center in 2022. She received a Bessie Award in 2023 and is a recipient of the "Fini International Dance Award" Rising Star 2023. Memoli has been featured in numerous international publications, including "Dance Magazine", "Vogue" Paris, "The New York Times", and "Corriere della Sera". Her achievements and performances have earned her recognition as a rising star in the dance world.
