Stefanie Spiece (Roper) earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet from Utah Valley University (UVU), where she began her formal dance training at the age of 20. Her nontraditional start in ballet has profoundly shaped her perspective as both an artist and educator, emphasizing perseverance, discipline, and the joy of continual learning.

Following graduation, Ms. Spiece relocated to New York City to begin her professional career with BHdos, the second company of Ballet Hispánico. Her performance experience includes Ballet Hispánico, FJK Dance, Calpulli Mexican Dance Company, Born Dancing Inc., Repertory Ballet Ensemble, and guest artist appearances with Utah Metropolitan Ballet. She has performed at Jacob’s Pillow, The Joyce Theater, The Apollo Theater, Lincoln Center, New York City Opera, The White House, and Coliseo de Puerto Rico, as well as on international tours with Cultural Envoy, a UVU-affiliated company promoting global artistic exchange.

In addition, Ms. Spiece’s musical theatre experience includes serving as Dance Captain in In the Heights and Assistant Choreographer for Little Shop of Horrors (West Valley Arts, Utah), as well as performing in the ensemble of Hello, Dolly! at Hale Centre Theatre (Utah).

As an educator, she has taught at Utah Valley University, Ballet West Academy, and previously at the Ballet Hispánico School of Dance. She is currently on faculty with Broadway Dance Center’s Children & Teens Program while continuing her professional work as a performing artist. Her teaching emphasizes technical precision, musicality, and artistry within a positive and inclusive environment that nurtures confidence and curiosity in every dancer.
