TRAVER TAP SCHOLARSHIP

Traver Hecht-Felella
1994-2013

Traver Hecht-Felella passed away on August 31, 2013 at the age of 19. As a young child he always heard music through his feet. Even before being formally trained, Traver dreamed of joining the great tap dancers he watched in old movies. His love of performing and the arts helped define who he was and provided Traver with a way to share and inspire others.

This love of tap dance brought him to the Children and Teen program at Broadway Dance Center. The Hecht-Felella family established a scholarship in Traver’s name for an aspiring young tap dancer at BDC. This dancer will be chosen by the CTP faculty and will receive a full scholarship for his/her tap class for the following CTP season.

2022 - 2023 Recipient: Gabriel Morris

JAMISON NOVELLO SCHOLARSHIP

Jamison Novello
2003-2019

Jamison Novello left us far too young, at just 15 years old. She touched so many people with her beautiful heart, smile and silliness. Jamison was the person who was always kind to someone who had no one. She was the girl who literally lit up a room. She had such a strong work ethic and wanted to please everyone she worked with. She endlessly gave 110 percent and simply wanted to excel at everything she undertook. Her family has set up a scholarship in her name so her passion, name, and light can be carried on.

2022 - 2023 Recipients: Alexis Rueda, Isaac Rivers, Isabella Castano, Isabella Towle, Sophia Martinez

WYNTERDIVA DOUNDATION

Wynter Mack
2010-2022

The WynterDiva Foundation (WDF) was established to honor Wynter Mack, who lost her battle to brain cancer in 2022. The Foundation grants dance scholarships to talented youth who have a passion for dance while easing the financial burden for families who support these children.  The Foundation also partners with the Children's Brain Tumor Foundation (CBTF) to
1) support families looking for alternative treatments to combat the effects of pediatric brain tumors and
2) provide funds for pediatric brain cancer research.

The youth awarded the 2023 WDF scholarship exemplified a passion for dance, positive attitude and a tremendous work ethic.

2022 - 2023 Recipients: Chloe Negron, Hunter Capellan
